Rock Soapwort is an easy to grow perennial that forms a carpet of spreading color. Rock Soapwort plants produce a profusion of five petaled, pink flowers in varying shades. It usually begins to bloom in the second year of growth.Low growing plants are up to 1 1/2′ tall. Rock Soapwort is often used in rock gardens, on hillsides, or as ground cover for hard to reach and maintain areas. The plants are just about maintenance free.Rock Soapwort prefers light, well draining soil. If your soil is heavy clay, mix in ample amounts of sand prior to planting. Plant prefer to grow in full sun to partial shade.
